• Sailing Ship: They came to America with a colony of Swiss immigrants led by the Reverand Maurice Goetschy, 29 May 1735, Philadelphia Pennsylvania. 6 They left Windlach for America in 1734(1)[also page 81 (surname mis-transcribed as “Auer”), Lists of Swiss Emigrants in the Eighteenth Century to the American Colonies, Albert Bernhardt Faust, published by National Genealogical Society, Washington, DC, 1920]. They came to America with a colony of Swiss immigrants led by the Reverend Maurice Goetschy on the ship <u>Mercury <ref/mercury_list.jpg></u>, which sailed from Rotterdam via Cowes, Isle of Wight, England and arrived at Philadelphia on 29 May 1735. Part of the story of this group’s trip was published in “History of the Goshenhoppen Reformed Charge”, <i>Pennsylvania German Society Proceedings, Volume 27</i>, published in 1916 (this article is also transcribed on <b><u>Reed Wurts’ website <http://pages.prodigy.net/reed_wurts/ships/gvcustom.htm></b></u>).
