Nicholas Wehr ¹

  General Notes:

Second Child of Simon and Catharina, born about 1742, a member of Heidelberg Reformed Church. A tailor by trade but owned no land. Married to Anna Margaretha Schellhamer. Believed to be buried in the old cemetery at Heidelberg. He served in the Revolutionary War in 1778 and 1782 and possibly in 1780 but is not so listed but perhaps he was away on duty. His is on the list of soldiers that received Depreciation Pay, and also listed among "Soldiers on the Frontier". His full name was Johan Nicolaus Wehr, but according to German custom, his second name was his real name.
