3. MAGDALENA5 FRIESS (PETER4, PETER3, JOHANNES MICHAEL2, MICHAEL1) was born Bet. 1780 - 1781 in PA, and died 1837 in Albany Twp, Berks Co. She married DANIEL LEVAN December 05, 1802 in First Reformed Church, Reading PA (Source: Genealogical Record of the Le Van Family, Warren P Coon, pub 1927, p 28. Also published in marriages of First Reformed Church, Reading, prepared by Jacqueline B Nein, 1988.), son of ISAAC LEVAN and MARY ELLMAKER. He was born Bef. 1770 in Exeter, PA, and died September 30, 1834 in Albany Twp, PA (Source: Compendium of records at New Bethel Church, Albany Twp, by Warren Zeigler, p 16.).

Notes for MAGDALENA FRIESS:
marriage at First Reformed Church, Reading, for Daniel Levan and Magdalena Fries:
Daniel Levan Alsace m. Magdalena Fries Alsace 12/5/1802

1830 Census shows her age bet 40-50, yielding birth bet 1780-1790. Further narrowing of her age would be before her father remarried Catharine Klingeman in 1786. So Magdalena would be born bet 1780-1786. Since she is named first in his will, she is most likely the oldest daughter. Her 3 other sisters were born 1782 and later, so I place her birth abt 1780-1781.

Notes for DANIEL LEVAN:
Excerpted from History of Berks Co by Morton Montgomery pub 1908:

Daniel Levan, grandfather of James B., was a native of Exeter township, Berks county, Pa. He died on his farm in Albany township before 1840, and is buried in a private burial ground on the farm now owned by James B. He came from Exeter to Albany in 1813, and bought the farm now owned by his grandson from his father-in-law, Peter Fries, and on this farm he lived until his death. He met his wife, a Miss Fries, in Reading, and their children were: Lydia m. Reuben Smith; Sally m. Benjamin Kramer; Benjamin; Maria (1815-1891) m. David Lutz, brother of Samuel; and Daniel, a farmer and blacksmith at Wessnersville, where he owned the farm now the property of Henry Leiby, and was the father of the following children: Lavina, Casetta, William, Cordelia, Belisa, Mrs. Henry Leiby and Dr. Walter.

Note: When Daniel Levan married Magdalena FRIES in 1802 they were both shown from Alsace in the records of First Reformed Church.

In 1820 Census, Daniel Levan was in Albany twp, age over 45.
In 1830 Census, he was shown between age 60-70, proves birth was bet 1760-1770. His wife bet 40-50, implies she was born bet 1780-1790.

Will of Daniel Levan, Albany, dated 4/12/1832, proved 10/8/1834.
